Ed Calderon of Ed's Manifesto original design tomahawk called the Tlax. It is a full tang design based off of traditional Native American tomahawks, but made in a robust modern style. The Tlax is made from waterjet cut blanks of 80CRV2 plate steel that we CNC machine. The heat treat is professionally done by Peters Heat Treat with cryogenic treatment, and a hot black oxide is applied to hold oil and resist rust. The handle scales are milled G10 with a no-slip texture for the toughest situations. The G10 scales are affixed with custom 17-4 stainless hardware we make in-house. The hardware is designed to fit a penny for field maintenance and there is storage under the handle scales. The sheaths are set up for belt carry or shoulder harness use and are made using kydex and plastic spacers and are retained with shock cord.
