The Adobada is a collaboration between Turner CNC, Inc. and Ed Calderon of Ed's Manifesto. The Adobada is our and Ed's take on a utility fighter with kitchen influences.
The Adobada features a 3D machined CPM 3V blade. The Adobada blade transitions from a hollow grind at the heel for increased cutting performance, to a flat dagger grind at the tip for strength. The central ridge provides full thickness almost all the way to the tip. Double Edge versions have the back hollow-ground edge sharpened and provide a good utility edge to use for everyday tasks and keeps the main edge razor sharp. CPM 3V is a Crucible powdered metal steel that has high toughness while still having good edge retention. Our blades are all professionally vaccum heat treated and then liquid nitrogen treated for maximum toughness.
The handle scales are 3D printed PLA Carbon Fiber and are affixed to the skeletonized full tang with our custom 17-4 stainless hardened hardware. Our in-house made hardware is removable using a penny allowing for storage under the scales and field maintenance without special tools.
The included sheath is 3D printed ABS and has mounting locations for the TD clip on both sides. The sheath comes with a Tracker Dan Gen 2 clip, and the clip is removable for different clips or carry methods.
Heat Treat Oxide: This is the raw finish that develops on the blades during the vacuum heat treat and cryogenic process. It is more susceptible to scratches and wear over time. This finish is not uniform, and changes from blade to blade.
